Now, this I realized a very long, long time ago. Sad part is, I'm not even the brightest bulb in the box. So, if I'm calling you stupid, you really should be offended. I mean, you really aught to be. However, just because I say so doesn't mean that you should get your panties in a bunch.

However, I'm sick of looking around, and seeing what look to be opposing comments on peoples arts. Primarily my own, but I've seen it in other places too.

Apparently, the term "Mary Sue" means 2 different things, which are completely opposite of each other. I had one rather rude asshat refer to the 3D render of Blaze as a Mary Sue, in a very ignorant way, and then in a very polite fashion after someone else politely did so on my old account.

According to my research, a Mary Sue is a character who is over powered and a normally more attractive persona of their creator. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The lady who referred to Blaze as Mary Sue in a polite fashion, also called her plain. Which is rather contradicting in its own.

Yes, Blaze IS plain with her looks. The only flare (pardon the pun) is her hair, and her weapon. That was the whole point. I didn't want her to be some special, over the top, ornately designed bimbo. She was created initially to project my feelings for Sub-Zero. Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Rain, Ermac, Reptile... All pallet swaps. So, okay... Kitana, Mileena, Jade, Khameleon... Blaze... Pallet swaps. I later added tails to her uniform a few years down the road, but that's because she needed a change (she's had 3 or 4 uniforms, and a few dressy options over time)

Pallet swapping, for plainness and such, was the initial point in design.

The closest Blaze comes to being like me, is the fact that she's a fire elemental. I is pyro. And what 13 year old kid isn't going to make their very first O.C. after something that they like? When you're that young and stupid, you don't think about making characters that would agonize and torture them when they're written about or role played as. I didn't get that sado-masochistic until I was liek... 15?


As far as being over powered... She really isn't? Blaze was role played through a few realms on the IRC network, and eventually settled into Blue Heaven, where she once again, started as a little ol' n00b, who couldn't even harness her elemental form (which should come naturally when you're the offspring of a god, don't you think?). After a good many a years of training through role play, she SHOULD have substantial power.

As for the years... Let's see... I started RPing in a serious manner, in Blue Heaven, which was just after Vanda and I had gotten back together. I was afraid that the GM would hate me, when I met her, as I kinda stole him back from her (wasn't my intention... I told him not to leave the girl he was with for me). But soon after meeting her, she invited me to Blue Heaven, and we began serious business.

How many years? Let's see... I was 15 when I started in BH. I've been done with BH for 4 years. I'm now 24.

THEN we can take the next 5 years after that.. Draikel (the single entity of Blaze and Shiraj), later come to be known as Suzaku (She's an illusionist.. she needed change. Some of you know that whole story), continued said training, in another realm, whos GM knew of my RP history with the 2 characters, and allowed me to continue playing. Let alone in my realm, where she had been RPed long before my time of BH, since shortly after Blaze's creation.

So, I guess we tack on +1.5 and +5, which = +6.5.

5+6.5 = 11.5 total years experience in the RP world.

I think 11.5 years is long enough that a flame elemental could sear your shit hole shut without even thinking about it. So as far as over powered goes, fuck you, fuck you, and you sir, should be thankful that you already know how to defecate through your mouth.
